  • What are UAV's?

    UAV is an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, often referred to as a “drone”. Any remotely controlled aircraft, regardless of size, is considered to be a UAV when used for commercial purposes.
  • Are there any rules and regulations of when and where you can fly?

    Yes. All commercial UAV use is regulated by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). All operators must have a CAA licence or permission. SkyShotAirCam drone pilots hold this licence or certification.
  • Are you insured?

    Yes. We carry full UAV liability insurance and full Hull coverage.
  • how do you deliver the footage?

    We typically provide the raw or edited footage, depending on your needs via direct download. We can also provide the footage on site as required.
  • can you fly in wind or rain?

    There are some restrictions on weather conditions in which we can fly, typically in winds under 30KPH and no precipitation.
  • Can you see a live view of what is being shot?

    Yes, we have a live video stream from the camera though First Person View goggles and displays, allowing us to frame the shot in real time.
  • How high can you fly?

    Normally, we are restricted to 400′ above ground with the current CAA licence that we carry. However, in certain circumstances. Ie, the case of telecommunications towers and wind turbines, we can operate up to about 700’.
  • How about thermal technology?

    We use the latest technology in Thermal Imaging when the service is required.
  • How long can you fly?

    We can fly for about 20 minutes on average, depending on the drone payload. We always carry spare batteries and battery changes only take a few minutes so we can be back in the air swiftly between shots.
  • What cameras do you use?

    We can carry anything as small as a Zenmuse X5 at 16MP and Video: 4K @ 30 FPS to a A7R with to 36MP and HD Video: 1920×1080 @ 60 or 25 FPS.
